Last night, a large and enthusiastic audience warmly applauded the two titles presented by AMAT as part of the summer program of the Teatri di Siena.
The event brought together various artistic talents, offering a rich experience that combined music, theater, and dance—a hallmark of AMAT’s programming.
Vincenzo Bocciarelli, Artistic Director of the Teatri di Siena, captivated the audience with his performance of Sergei Prokofiev’s “Pierino e il Lupo”: a brilliant interpretation that brought to life the diverse characters and personalities in the story. Alongside him was the star of the evening, the Unconventional Orchestra of AMAT, conducted by Maestro Concetta Anastasi.
Even the youngest members of the audience had fun guessing which orchestra instruments represented the various animals described in the story. This interactive element fostered an atmosphere of joy and engagement, culminating in countless smiles and rounds of applause.
Paola Benocci, on the other hand, lent her voice to “Il Carnevale degli Animali” by Camille Saint-Saëns. Her performance, featuring texts specially written for the occasion, was accompanied by the elegant choreography of the Balletto di Siena, directed by Marco Batti. The choreography added further beauty and harmony to the orchestra’s music and the narration.
Francesca Lazzeroni, director of AMAT, commented:
“It is such a joy to see such a large audience warmly embracing our production with so much enthusiasm. We are happy and grateful that Vincenzo Bocciarelli chose to personally step into the role of actor in one of our productions. And, of course, the rest was achieved by the fantastic setting of the Fonti, selected by the Director and enhanced by the technical team of the Teatri di Siena. It was a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the ‘Sboccia l’estate’ festival.”
